The editing and proof-writing workshop with the Royal Literary Fund
This workshop is for anyone who's ever sent an email or written a report, sent it off and THEN realised 'delivered a baby' has autocorrected to 'devoured a baby'.*
Editing and proofreading are two distinct but related skills, and this workshop helps you to develop both. It's full of tips and tricks from the Royal Literary Fund, and includes:
- editing your writing to make it concise, accurate and readable
- making sure your writing strikes the right tone
- proofreading tips that will help your writing shine (and ensure 'Let's eat, Grandma' doesn't slip through as 'Let's eat Grandma'. Commas matter!).
Using discussion and practice activities, this workshop offers you a chance to develop your editing and proofreading skills, with the help of an experienced professional writer from the Royal Literary Fund.
*Other mistakes are also welcome.
This event is being held in partnership with the Royal Literary Fund writers work in universities, with businesses and charities, and with NHS trusts to show people how to approach and plan different types of writing and to help them feel proud of their finished work.
